Take me from this place I see
So profound in its complexity
Confusion rampant in my mind
Seeking still, but will I find?

Honesty drawn from deep within
To shield my heart from what is sin
Dark shadows fall to cast aside
To contemplate, but yet abide

I yearn for who I used to be
Filled with hope and so carefree
A strength apparent in every step
With stories told and memories kept

Upon the ground I kneel once more
To count the cost of what's in store
My prayers unanswered to this day
I beg, I plead, once more I pray

Tempered platitudes upon my tongue
To scream unheard to old and young
I quench my need to end it all
Before I take this endless fall

Again, I heed my inner voice
To stand again, and make a choice
To rid me from this place I see
This place of stifling perplexity..
Setting my thoughts free again..

Such a true account of what happens to us, in poetic form Trudie

I think at some point, we all yearn to go back to before we became jaded by the disappointments in life.
Thomas Wolfe comes to mind.

"You found the earth too great for your one life… But it has been this way with all men… You have faltered, you have missed the way… And now, because you have known madness and despair… We who have stormed the ramparts of the furious earth and been hurled back, we who have been maddened by the unknowable and bitter mystery of love, we who have hungered after fame and savored all of life, the tumult, pain, and frenzy, and now sit quietly by our windows watching all that henceforth never more shall touch us—we call upon you to take heart, for we can swear to you that these things pass".

"You Can't Go Home Again"
