Fate

Mere words writhe under an acids tongue to spew
carelessly upon the deaf ears of fate
Shards of humanity lay bleeding at your feet to
seal their inane quest into faith
Tormented yet peaceful in a requiem played on a
broken violin by the spirit of your conscience

Though I see the pain in your eyes I cannot bring
myself to lay a hand of comfort on your skin
Tears well in my heart and yet I still hold back in fear
of loves denial, or is it I am just a coward?
Be what it may I turn my back and walk away into
the recesses of what was yesterday

The loneliness in utter desolation is but a scar on the soul
of those who do not open their heart
To taste the sweet warmth of your lips on mine in the
culmination of what I believe to be our destiny
Be there no one to walk beside this broken doll whose
tomorrow is but an entity of one
