My mind, it keeps me hidden here Embedded with much angst and fear The tears that fall upon my face Will never let me leave this place I claw and scream inside my head blackness feeding with the dread Of being seen, but no-one saw To open and yet, to close the door I am lost in darkness black and cold My body aching and feeling old Sinews of strength are trodden still To drag away my last free will People look but cannot see Who I am and who is me A shadow in a world of light Hidden alone, yet in plain sight I ask not much, but cannot speak To beg for more just makes me weak My hand outstretched, to feel a touch But in the end, it is too much For you see, I will forever hide In my mind, my pain to bide Remember who was me, at any cost Not from whence my soul was lost My ashes scattered in the wind with pieces of me, that have not sinned A page that is written within a book For those I've loved to take a look So peruse at will and share some time This poem for those who

The Old Times Gate........ Garden roses nestled and entwined their sinewy branches around the wrought-iron carcass of the Old Times Gate. Memories pressed within each link and leaf to never be forgotten yet leaving a mark of dis-use but also a finality often remembered by those who walked through to pass on their way to where-ever. A rush of children's footsteps often echoing beyond the clang of their insistent urgency that life always seemed far too short.. Tears of joy as we carried a new life to enter a phase of such determination and wonderment yet strangled by the uncertainty that all we discover and behold is not always as it seems

REKINDLED YESTERDAYS.... CHAPTER 6.... The Blackness. So complete and encompassing. Hard to breathe. My breath exhaling in short shallow sounds. Gurgling and with no coherency. I trace my tongue over my lips. Dry and cracked and tasting like salty tears. I reached out with my hands finding nothing but thin air and an iciness that left me shivering and feeling abandoned and alone. I was alone. I felt alone. BUT was I alone? REKINDLED YESTERDAYS..... CHAPTER 5...... Nothing seemed real anymore. My mind was reeling and so filled with confusion that my awareness was non-existent until I felt Paul's hand upon my shoulder. A light and gentle touch that had me sub-consciously leaning backwards to embrace the moment. As he moved in closer I felt the whisper of his warm breath on my neck and the sweet subtle smell of his cologne and at that moment I knew I was safe. REKINDLED YESTERDAYS..... CHAPTER 4....... I felt trapped within a vortex of secrecy and no matter how hard I tried, my mind could not recall what I needed to fill in the blanks. Since the letters started arriving it had thrown me further into confusion. Vague innuendo's of a past that felt out of my reach. The first letter had been an obituary notice stating the gruesome death of both my Mother and Father, in unexplained circumstances. Followed by a newspaper clipping with even less background and no evidence of the culprits or reason for the crime, just more secrecy. Suffer little children for what we have done. The seeds that we've sown from tears that have run. Down the faces of grey and in eyes seen so bleak. Of mouths filled with words that no-one can speak. I despair when I think of what could of been. This life which I've lived but still haven't seen. My hand holds my heart as my scream utters loud. To be lost in the wind midst the darkest of cloud. The torment goes on though we wish it would not. You see but the children we have often forgot. They are tangled and twisted and still trying to give. Mere rhyme to this life and pure reason to live. To See....

MY TEARS..... They will remind me, of the places I have been. Those loves that I have lost, and the hurt that I have seen. They fall in such abundance, and leave a hollow place. That time and only comfort, can fill the empty space. All tears do serve a purpose, that help us all to heal. Much strength and our resilience, allows us all to feel. MY HEART..... will store the memories, both good and sad; it seems. For one meshed with the other, enables us our dreams. that tells us what to do. Puts us where we need to be, then helps to see it through. Not all is seen as easy, for hard is how we need to learn. a gift of knowledge there, at each and every twist and turn. To show we really care MY SOUL...... will see the promise, and goodness yet to store. For life is but a journey, To be seen as so much more. a fine line between existing, and living how we should. I am doing great! I go by your page from time to time because I miss seeing your work here and I remember how you encouraged me to share my writings. That kindness will never be forgotten.
